Diphtheria Tetanus and Polio

Vaccine: A combination vaccine that protects against three diseases.

Diseases: Diphtheria: A bacterial infection that can cause respiratory problems, a sore throat, fever, and a thick, gray membrane to form in the back of the throat or nose. In severe cases, diphtheria can lead to paralysis, heart failure, and even death. Tetanus: A bacterial infection that causes muscle spasms, usually in the jaw and neck. Tetanus can also cause difficulty swallowing, muscle stiffness, and seizures. Polio: A viral infection that can cause paralysis, muscle weakness, and respiratory problems. In severe cases, polio can lead to permanent disability or even death.

Advice: Most people in developed countries have received DTP as children, but it's essential to check your vaccination records and get boosters as recommended. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) recommends getting a booster every 10 years.
